Yeah I had a set on my '93 F-250 and I loved them so I ordered a set for my '93 XLT Explorer. But I never put them on, as a matter of fact I am wanting to sell them because I 'm contemplating selling my Explorer. If you are interested let me know.

Bilsteins

Bilsteins are very good. Among the best, IMHO. I had a set on my .93 when it was stock height, but had to change them when I lifted it, because the travel was then too short. I got suckered into Rancho 9K's with the in cab adjust system. We installed the take-off "Bills" on my nephews' '94 Ranger about 6 years ago, where they're still going strong ( he had them all through college, so they got a good workout). ;-) Wish I'd gotten longer "Bills" instead of the "Raunchos" but the in-cab system cost too much and is too complex to just abandon just yet.

do they offer bilsteins for a lifted explorer? if so, who sells em? i HAVE GOT to get rid of these cheasy superlift shocks.....

i am about to (in the next couple weeks) pick up four new bilsteins for my '95. my question, carparts.com has two types, comfort and heavy duty. i am leaning toward the hd ones, but the ad says they are for towing, heavy loads, etc. i do go off road from time to time, but, i'd say 85 to 90 percent of my time is on road. do y'all think the hd ones would make the ride too harsh? also, i have 1.5" torsion twist and warrior shackels. do i need a longer shock? how much higher could i go with the stock length shocks? thanks, folks.

When I had asked this to a Blistein rep earlier this year, he told me they had the fronts, but none for the rear on a 4" lift. Since the SOA uses stock heighth shocks, you should be able to get a complete set. If you call/e-mail, ask about the 4" rears if you don't mind. Thanks.

I'm still trying to find what Bilsteins will work with what lifts. Theres a few 4x4 sites out there that can help you out with what lengths and part#s will work. For instance, F150 Bilsteins work for a 4" lifted Explorer.
Most lifted applications can use shocks from the 5100 series line. Oh and get the HD (Heavy Duty) setting if its even an option..you dont want squishy shocks.

Bilsteins are excellent shocks.

Instead of letting someone tell you what shock to use with your lift I would recommend you take measurements of your front and rear suspension at full stuff and full droop. Then order the appropriate length according to those measurements.
