I cannot tell you how they sound on a 5.0. I have a Dyno Max set up on my '92. It sounds good for a 4.0 but the system is not made as well as other products. Flow master uses better materials. My system is 2 years old and the way it is rusting I will be surprised if I get one more year out of it. The do come aluminized, but this does not mean bunk if it is not done well which it is not.
I've run Dynomaxs (Dynomaxes?) before, and they sound great, but when I went to check out the Explorer kit, found it only comes with a 2 1/4" tailpipe. Good for V6, kinda wimpy for V8.
I put a Dynomax on my 99 and I love it. I havent had an aftermarket exhaust before so I cant compare. Im not too worried about rust since im in the desert. There were only 2 companies I could choose from when I got mine.Dynomax and Gibson. I bought mine from Jegs for 199.00 and 15.00 for S&H. Sound is great and so is performance. Cant wait to install my superchip.

Have a Dynomax turbo muffler with a custom mandrell bent 2 1/2" pipe made by a local muffler shop on my '93. I agree that the 2 1/4 " pipe D-max supplies with their kit is a little small even for the 4.0 V6. Anything bigger than 2 1/2" on the V6, at least, wouldnt be needed or help. As for the performance and sound, I have been pleased with both, and according the the literature, the Dyno has the lowest backpressure of the popular high flow mufflers.
I run dynomax turbo mufflers on my 5.0L Ranger.
Sounds great, mellow until you stand on it.
I will be running dynomax turbo mufflers with their high flow cats on my '92 5.0L Navajo Project.
