I'm thinking of getting 31x10.5x15 Bridgestone Dueler Revos on stock suspension. Anyone have this setup. Just curious about the ride...is it bouncy? Also, Do they rub and did you have to trim anything. Thanks.

well you shouldnt have any problems with rubbing, besides on the swaybar. why not just add a simple tt and shackles :D

What are these TT/SHACKLES and 31's will fit stock on my 95?

Osker:

Yeah, I know about the TT and shackles...just really don't want to lift it if possible. I was more interested in getting some first hand impressions from anyone running 31x10.5x15 Revos on stock suspension...ie: how they like ride, how they handle and wear etc.

Dad:

Shackles are parts that connect the rear of each leaf spring to the frame. By replacing the stock shackles with Warrior Shackles some have gained around 1 and 1/2 inches of lift in the rear. TT refer to a Torsion Twist. The front suspension of second generation Explorers is controlled by torsion bars on each side of the truck which can be adjusted to either raise (or lower) the front. The conventional wisdom on this site is that 31's will fit under stock suspension but each individual truck can be different....some minor trimming (ie the nub on the running boards or inside of the wheel well) may be neceessary)....so if you're one of the unlucky ones that they don't fit and you don't want to trim you can always do a TT and shackles to raise it up a bit. Much has been written about all of this. Hit the search feature and you'll probably find enough info to keep you reading for a week.

how does the ride change if you raise with shackles and TT? is it rougher or smoother?

Can't answer your question as I have never raised my truck. However if you search around the site I'm sure you will find an answer. There are tons of threads about lifting. Anyway, I would like to keep this thread about 31x10.5x15 Revos on stock suspension. Thanks,

I dont know if this will help, but I had 31" BFGoodrich All terrains on my stock 95. I didnt notice too much of a difference. I recently installed tt and shackle lift and the ride is actually smoother.

Im putting some 31's on my 98 4door this weekend. Once i drive it around a bit and check for rubbing, i will let you know how it works out.
ps. its stock height

i found that once i lifted mine, the ride became a little firmer, but not uncomfortable at all, i like it a lot better

I'm ridin on 31/10.50/15s but they are BFG A/Ts there is a minor rub when turning hard left, nothing a tiny trim won't fix. the ride is much stiffer than on the tiger paw 235s it had when i bought it used
