2011 Ford Explorer AWD
It's killing me........ Bought my 2012 Explorer before they were released. . . LOVE it...everything bu the power. (well that and exhaust tone) I drive a 2006 Quattroporte for fun, but NEED an SUV. I finally got alittle more height on my Explorer (for the ranch), but it's just SO BORING!! SOMEBODY has to make something for it???

(Yes, I did go drive the new Sport. It's head and shoulders quicker, but the 3 color choices are just SO dumb. . . I'd never find it in the parking lot)

Sell it and buy the Sport. If they can get the damn fume smell in the cabin problem fixed this is the best SUV in the $50-60k range. I've driven them all...even the $100-130k range SUV's. Then you have better options for power upgrades. I'm ordering http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchan...oduct_Code=ATP-SHO-001&Category_Code=35V6TRAN to upgrade my turbos for a 200+ hp boost. This plus the tune/exhaust/intake I will be smoking the $130k 500hp range SUVS.

say wha?? i do like my explorer except for the terrible rattle in the front end and the mind boggling MFT system. Im still shocked there is not a Class action law suit for that dangerous POS!
But.... to say it is the best SUV even in the $100-130k range is ridiculous. Have you driven a Range Rover Sport, GL55, or Ceyanne Turbo? If so, it is impossible for you to have made that statement.

I completely agree on "smokin" the hi-$$$ SUV's. I've driven pretty much all of them.... but my Explorer see's serious AWD terrain out at our ranch. None of the expensive stuff has near the clearance. . . and when I "run thru tha jungle" of mesquite. . . I'd like to blow off what the paint repair is going to cost. . .

I didn't say it is best in $100-130K class...I said $50-60k and that it will smoke the $100-130k class after i upgrade the turbo's and pushing 600 whp. I've driven all of the expensive vehicles and have friends w/ some. I never like the styling of the range rover until 2014 model preceded by the Evoke styling. I don't like the styling of the Porsche and Mercedes is over-priced and too finicky. BMW x6 M is nice on the outside ugly on the inside. I like the the EX Sport. Got someone working on a coil-over w/ bags so I can control the height like the Rovers. At half the cost I'm not so afraid to play w/ it or break it in order to fix it and have fun all over again. If I wanted to spend my extra dollars it would be the https://newrangeroversport.landrover.com/us/en/#explore/overview with 510hp but I set my limit at $60k for vehicle.

Drive a SRT8 Jeep and u will b impressed. Much nicer than the sport but I have both. One for nice weather and the explorer as a daily driver.
