Are there any special tools needed to pull a 5R55E transmission from a 99 Ex Sport?

nope, just a standard set of sockets and wrenches, and socket extensions.

Thanks IZwack, I guess I'm off tomorrow to pull a used transmission.

It's coming off a 97 EX Sport with 58K on it.

Is there anything I should do to it besides filter and fluid before I install it in my 99 Sport?

The 2 top bolts are a little tricky. Use a wobble extension or swivel sockets.
