I have a TPMS sensor out in my rear passenger tire. I want to stick w/a Motorcraft sensor as I've learned these 3rd Gen 4.0 V6 trucks are a real PITA, & it's best to stay Motorcraft whenever & wherever possible. I've seen aftermarket ones be relearned w/out the special tool, by the turning the ignition back & forth 3 times, depress brake til horn blows, while truck is running & mssg center says "relearn front left," then go let air out of front driver's side tire til horn blows, mssg center then reads relearn right front, let air out til... etc, etc." And mine does just fine til it reads "relearn rear right," at which point I have let 10 or 15 lbs of air out & never does the horn blow. That's how I've narrowed it down to AT LEAST rear passenger side sensor, & I'm gonna order an extra for the driver's side passenger, & if it successfully relearns... I'll always have an extra TPMS sensor. But can I relearn a Motorcraft sensor manually like I described, or by driving the truck @ at least 50 mph for at least 10 minutes, or, bcuz I wanna stick w/Motorcraft, will I need to get the tool as well??? Any & all replies much appreciated!
