I'm getting ready to add a grill insert to my 97 Sport. Just wondering how those of you that have already done this mod rigged your hood latch?

My hood latch is directly under the hood.
Its not behind the grill. Yours should be the same.
So you should not have ant problems.

Chop sticks. Its easy once you get the hang of it.

Gi,
they actually changed the hood lacth location from my model (97) to yours (98), so it is different. My latch is on the left side behind my grill.

Section,
Our should be the same. How did you rig yours?

I cut a little hole I've heard of some guys just carrying a screw driver

I left the top center two holes empty. I wasn't sure how I'd like it, but it turned out to look even better with them open IMO. Kind of like the front of a race car or something. LOL

Click the link to my truck in my signature. You can see it in the last picture.

i added a criss cross thingy from(behind the grill) a 01 x to my 97 then just cut to of the "x's" out and you can't even see them..IMO

hey, i have a 96 and i just zip tied the 2nd release ( the one in the grill) so as soon as i release the first release from inside the truck the hood would lift right up

I attached a hanger to the hood release and ran it through to the front drivers side wheel well...I pop the hood reach under there and pull and its open. Ghetto but thats ok.
