I've been getting all kind of different info from Ford and other people I don't which way is right. Heres the deal. I have a 91 Explorer 4dr XLT, it has a barometric pressure sensor on it. But when I go to Auto Zone or other parts houses the only thing they list is a MAP sensor. So I have gone to 4 different Ford dealers, 3 of the 4 all told me that the 91-92 models all had MAP sensors on em, and on rare occasions had a Barometric sensor. The 4 dealer I went to was a Ford truck dealer, and he searched for everything on the puter and the only thing that came up for a 91-92 Explorer was the barometric sensor.
Now I would like to know if anybody who owns a 91-92 also has a barometric sensor on theirs, and had replaced it with a MAP sensor or vice-versa, and did you run into any problems when you changed them.

I dunno if I have one or not. Where is it and what does it look like:banghead:

The only time I've heard the barometric sensor mentioned, I got the impression that it was part of the Mass air flow sensor. Does this sound right?

OK just alittle clairification on the Baro and Map sensor. It bolts up to fire wall between the engine and above the A/C/heater box. It has a 3 wire plug on it. The map sensor would have a vacuum line coming off of it too, the Baro sensor looks just like it but there is no vaccum line. On the ploders it is mounted into a plastic cover that slides back into the cowling area.
