Not sure why this happens but when I turn the explorer off and get out of it and lock the doors, the Sirius xm continued to play. I have to turn audit off otherwise it always plays. Why is that? Why would the audio turn off once the doors open after engine is turned off?

This is a familiar issue that also was posted about in the 5th gen forum. Re your last sentence, did you mean to say; why would the audio NOT turn off once the doors open? Instead of turning the audio OFF, did you try closing and opening the door again?

Sorry, yes - I meant why would it NOT turn off in the last sentence. And yes, I tried opening and closing doors again. Then Iocked car to see if that would work then I just waited by the car for a minute or two to see if it would turn off and it didn’t. I hope this issue doesn’t drain the battery

Any update?

I know that this is an old post, but all of a sudden I am having the same issue. Also, I am getting the GPS with a slash through it and the GPS map just spins. Today, while driving to the Ford dealer, the map veered off the highway and showed me driving in the ocean! I made sure that I didn't turn off the car until I made sure that the service folks saw the issue. Quite frustrating!!!

Are you able to turn the radio OFF by using its own button?
Please report back with any findings/resolutions.
Thank you.

Peter

IMHO, all 2020s should have their modules updated to the newest version. There are so many quirks and faults that just disappear after doing so. Unfortunately, the dealer won't do it unless you point out problems and then they probably won't get them all. There are literally over a dozen modules that have updates. You can DIY but it entails buying an expensive adapter/connector (j2534 pass-thru), having a stable power supply, a PC laptop and licensing Ford FDRS software for 2 days.
