So, I drove home from work to my girlfriends house....311 sounded great....

she goes to the bank and comes back to tell me that the Sub isnt working....

So, I do a simple check in her street....just simple once over.... nothing but the front channels are working....

Sub amp and 4channel amp are both getting power and I can hear a "hiss" through the rear channel... but no sound... checked RCA's (they are using 2 different brands so I know exactly which ones they are) both seem fine....and are plugged in correctly...

The HU doesnt even see the Non-Fading RCA input... as in it used to give me a L/P filter and a N/F bass boost and now the HU wont let me do it.... could it be the HU, amp, wires? help :(

i know this sounds kinda stupid im probably wrong
i get hissing on my tv when the volume is up high but on mute or theres just no volume to that program

so could it be ur gf was playing with things and set it to turn off the rears? i dont know if thats at all possible with ur setup but mabey u can try disconecting the battery to reset the HU? again im probably wrong but it will mabey bide u over till someone does know what happened

it just sounds like theres no signal going out to the subs..but the amp is on and pushing signal..its just not there understand what i mean? doesnt sound like the amp to me

hit the reset button on your deck to get it back to oem then go through and reset everything to your pref. see if that helps.

see the pretty buttons on my radio... don't tough em ho

-the doggfather himself

just kidding, yeah it sounds like she randomly cycles through stuff untnil she shut them off. You probably have to turn it off and go into a menu that is only available with the unit powered off to fix the problem.

look at this they come in and know just how to fix it :( lol

like expo should talk..whats that? is that a whip i hear? hmm mabey =) teee hehe

You said 311 sounded good. You obviously had a stereo problem before she drove it.:p

Well, bonus update.....

It appears as though someone.... (probably me with my luck) turned the fader to front only.....HMMMM... so the 4 channel amp is working great again....

As for the subs....NOW that the rears are working and I know that the RCA cable works for it..... I am going to unplug it from the HU and amp and re-use it for the subs and see if it is an RCA cable problem....

I agree that the amp is getting power and most likely no signal from the RCA's.... so I will try to switch the RCA's and see if that is the problem... if it is the RCA's ...

Anyone know why they could/would go bad?????

Based on the fact that the HU isnt even recognizing the BASS RCA's leads me to think it is the RCA that is bad...

I just hope its not the HU itself.....

PS - she couldnt have gotten to the menu's to F up the bass if she tried.... although she was "just hitting buttons trying to change the CD...."... sometimes.... ARGH

TERD - its their new CD which is MUCH better than the last one they put out.... plus being a philly native... I liked more when they were "underground"..

[ silly question ]

You sure Subwoofer:Yes (or some facsimile thereof) is enabled on the deck?

[ /silly question ]

CQ7,

I hesitate to say it this way but.......

*dontholdagainstmeifImwrong*There is no way to enable the subs or disable for that matter....

gonna check the manual online though... and then run out to the X to check the RCA....

ALL fixed

wilson and mhn all had the right idea...

I hit the reset button and walla.... I had subs again...

I am kinda happy that the subs went out on me... cause I didnt realize I wasnt using my rears......(for fill).. now maybe I will have more midbass who knows....

Thanks all for the suggestions...

Glad to hear it worked out. Just blame the French if anyone asks you what went wrong. ;)
