I just invested a couple hundred dollars into a new system and I am wondering what my options are when it comes to security. Has anyone tried to actually bolt the sub box onto the car? If an alarm is my only defense, what are my affordable options? I drive an old 1993 XLT. Thanks.

Here is what I have

Viper 690 XV with 4 exterior sirens and 1 interior...back up battery/glass and stock sensors

Bolted the sub box to the chasis of the truck. Screws the amps into the box used 4 diff types of screw heads, same with sub

dark tint---out of sight, out of mind

yes as a matter of fact, i have my box bolted to the floorboard or my explorer.. have to take the spair tire off to get to one of them, so it wouldnt be a quick steal.. not to mention that the speaker it self weighs 100 pounds (with 12 bolts holding it into the box, it wouldnt bee easy to get either..) and the box weighs another 120 pounds pounds or so..

and then for the alarm i have got a 2-way alarm and pager..with glass break sensors, microwave motion sensor(senses body heat and movement)so if i wanted to set my alarm with the windows down and someone puts an arm in the window it would sound alarm, door sensors, shock sensor..automatic disabling vehicle ignition,

and blacked out windows to make it difficult for someone to window shop

i think i have it secured decently. :salute: haha

Tint makes people curious, but they can't see whats exactly in there so they can't plan and come back later for a quick grab. (I have 5% tint all the way around.)
Don't bolt your amp to the box, so if the can rip it out and run, they don't have amp and subs.
Definitely bolt box to floor.

thiefs could give a **** less with alarms dont scare them cuz they like jail. tints still blow your window out cuz they hear the system coming from a block away. bolted down amps and subs they just gunna stab them and ruin the equipment cuz if they cant steal it they dont want u to enjoy it. thiefs are assholes and they just jealous of the real people who can afford to do pay to make there **** sound good my comment is if it happens just dont let it get to you i just had two 12 inch jl audio w3s and two jl amps jacked from me and im upgraded to 13s and more power to show them i cant be stoped. if thiefs want sumthin they gunna get it just show them they cant affect you and it will come back ten fold to those who deserve it.
