The Eclipses are good SQ subs... Also look at Alumapros and the Kappa Perfects.

Definitely go for the ALUM12Qs though... I think the Xs had some epoxy problems, and the 2002 model Qs look a lot better, IMO.

the ALUMX series (2001) didnt have any problems. it was some of the 2000 series (ALUM) that were recalled.

the Eclipse subs are really good.
with 300 watts RMS @ 2 ohms mono, i would recommend Orion XTR PRO. they are rated @ 500 watts RMS, but are very efficient. and they have dual 4 ohm coils which will make a 2 ohm mono load when wired in parallel.

the type R is a really good sub. but it dont think you would be happy with the perfect after having the JLW6
