Hey, I was driving home from work today when my transmission started leaking fluid like someone was pouring a bucket of it out all over the ground. It looks alot like my front seal is leaking, so I loaded it up with some transmission stop leak and some lucas transmssion addative and it seems to have stopped it from pouring out....but I know this is a temporary fix.
So my question is, how hard is it to remove the tranny and replace the seal? I know how to turn a wrench (I just finnished insalling a new engine in my mustang) so I am sure I can do it, but I am more conserned about the time it takes as this is my daily driver.
I tried searching for some instructions but nothing came up, I have the haynes manual and it doesn't look that bad to do but everything seems easy according to the haynes manual, does anyone have any links to some step by step instructions or any good advice to give?
It seems like a waste to go to shop to get it done as this is a 5 dollar part, plus the old girl isn't really worth the money to have it fixed at a shop (I am assuming at least a $800+ tab to have it fixed)
Any help would be appreciated
Cheers
