How do you service the auto hubs. I would like to clean them up, but do you use grease
or light oil?
Also can manual hubs be used with the push -
button transfercase?

Well, as far as servicing the hubs, all I sugest you do is repack these babies with the same grease you use to repack the bearings. I don't think these things are meant to be torn apart. Manual hubs in a push-button? Why not? Even if you push the button you still have to go around and engage the hubs manually, right?

Don't use Bearing Greese. Bearing greese is too thick and will keep the hubs from engaging/disengaging correctly. I've heard someone used ATF fluid so I gave it a try it works very well. I used ATF for almost a year before I replaced them for Manual hubs (I now carry them as spares).

ATF? but wouldn't this mix with the bearing grease and dilute it? Are we talking about the same thing?

Andre,
What you are doing is coating the hub parts with ATF fluid, not packing them or drenching them. It won't hurt the the seals because you are not using much ATF fluid. A little bit goes a long way. Dead Link Removed

So then it's ok to use a cleaner to clean out
the auto hubs with varsol? Then just put some
ATF in the hubs and if too much just dump out. Dead Link Removed

Ken,
Mke sure you take the auto hubs off before cleaning and relubing, then put them back on.
