does anyone know if there is a way to self diagnose the auto temp. control on a 1999 mer. mount. also were can I buy a new one if bad? thanks

I assume you're talking about the climate control. There should be a self diagnostic feature. Turn the ignition to RUN with the climate control on, then simultaneously press and release the OFF and FLOOR buttons, and within two seconds press the AUTOMATIC button. If this works, it should display some codes after about 30 seconds. Post those, and I can help you further.

Rock on. fyi code 888 means pass, so if something were to crop up again, it would be an electrical component, such as a blend door, blower motor, etc.
