1991 4dr 4.0L automatic Explorer. My auto locking hubs are shot. A local salvage yard has some manual locking hubs from 1985-1989 Ford Bronco II's & Rangers for $14.95 each. Will they fit my Explorer? and are there any parts I need off the donor axle? Do I need anything on the other side of the 2 locking spanner nuts towards the inside of the axle?

They can fit...but you'll need to do some MAJOR work. The ford uses a dana 35 for the explorer and a different axle for the bronco. The two are not the same. Just about everything is different. Sorry. The only way is to go to Warn or I think Superwinch has a set now too and to get ones for the Explorer. Unless you're willing to change out the axle.

Buy the Warn manual hubs and conversion kit (which are two nuts and a keyed washer per side) and be done with it. It's the only way to go. I paid about $130 for mine, but that was 6 or 7 years ago. They're probably a little higher now.

Don't know anything about Superwinch having a hub also.

Come to think of it...they do. I just don't know the number or price. If you want I can send out an e-mail to them and get the number or you can just go with warn.
