Hi guys, I am new to the site. I have a '92 Explorer 4x4, when I first purchased it it had some erratic transmission shifting which a governor, a flush and filter cured. Now the problem I am having is getting it to go down to 1st gear when in Drive. I can manually put it into 1st gear and its fine. I am going to let it go untill it becomes more of a problem. My queston is, has anyone done a 5-speed conversion on one of these? Would it be easier and less expensive to just get a rebuilt or reman tranny or convert? Any help would be great.
