Auto transfercase questions

Ive recently done the brown wire mod to my explorer with a lighted switch, and ive noticed it does something kinda funny when i put in in 4 hi or 4 lo. When sitting there idleing, the light is pretty dim, when i give it gas or go above 10 mph, the light is brighter, and when its above 15 mph its fully lit. Is this normal for these transfercases?

Depending on where you're getting the power for the light on the switch from, I'd say its normal.

The power actuall comes from the brown wire, so it lights up only when the 4x4 is working. I thought it would supply full power as soon as the knob is turned to 4 hi, but i guess not. It is def better than the auto mode, that kinda sucks, the tires slip then it grips and keeps doing that cycle. The light goes on and off like crazy then.
