I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. I put the driver's side window down and now the button is not responding. There is no sound when I action the up or down button, which leads me to believe that the motor for the window is not responding. All the other buttons are in working order, so it can't be an electrical issue with the controls. I tried to see if a fuse was out, but I no longer have the manual.

Has anyone else ever run into this problem? Do I need to take it to the dealer?

I had the same issue. I know it may seem like it's just the window motor, mine was not. The Door Panel Switch is seperate for each window. Mine gave out, and I had to get a new trim peice with the buttons in it. A freind of mine had the same thing happen, and he just re-wired his back window control to the front. Of course... now he can't roll down his back window.

this happened on my 93.......I assume the switches may be the same style...I just took the switch panel off, then switched the passenger one into the drivers one (on the back) and then it worked fine! Got a new switch for $11 from ford parts network...i think they are now called fastpartsnetwork.com
