Hi all,

Does anyone know if AutoMeter Gauges can be installed in a 2008 EX 4.0L?
I'm looking to install the following gauges;
Transmission Gauge - Is their a test port on tranny to connect to?
Oil Temp Gauge - same question above
Volt Meter Gauge
Water Temp Gauge - same question and where can i connect to?

Any assistance will be greatly aprreciated

Tony

Autometer gauges can be installed in any vehicle, best place for tranny is in the pan or in the cooler line as the fluid leaves the tranny. When you buy the gauges the instructions usually tell you where to put the sensor

if you are looking for gauges that tap into the factory sensors I suggest looking a lcd obdII interface gauges ... otherwise you will be adding more sensors... the water temp sensor is the one on the back of the T stat housing but even this one might not be compatible with aftermarket gauge set... if you have an android phone or tablet with bluetooth I suggest torque app and a obdii BT adapter... this is what I use and I have everything working except for engine oil temp that I do not think ford uses

That's not a bad idea, the wireless obd would cost about the same as an aftermarket gauge, and have tr ability to read codes, check PIDs, and such

its a great value if you dont need to buy a phone/tablet.... $15 for the BT adapter and $5 for the app.... if you are an apple user you need a wifi obdII and another app that I have never tried
