AWD problems.

Hey everyone, I'm new to this site as a member although I have followed some threads that have been very useful. Okay here is my problem. I have a 1997 XLT AWD 5.0 explorer that has been making my life miserable latetly. Over the last few weeks it has developed a shake and vibration coming from the front end. Finally tonight i put it up in the air to run the tires to see if I could figure anything out. I imediatly noticed that the drivers side wheel spins when put in drive but the passenger side will not rotate. I crawled underneath and didnt see anything off hand that was wrong. I'm sure I know what the answer is but just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks

The front axle on the Explorers is open. As in, it is NOT a Posi or Limited Slip rear end. Only 1 wheel will spin.
