What is the difference between Pinion Spline and Axle Spline?

I almost order my new Gears 4.56 when I notice that the Pinion Spline is 30,
Because I want to install PowerTrax LSD at the same time I check the PowerTrax and only comes Spline 31, 35 and 28 for the 8.8.
So I call PowerTrax and they told me is not the same thing.
Their LSD is 31 Spline Axle and independent to the Pinion Spline.
Even if I Re-Gear to 4.56 and I change the pinion Spline my Axle still 31.

If some of the big figures of this learning center could please clarify this for me, I will be grateful.

The pinion gear is driven by the driveshaft (thru the pinion yoke). The axle shafts are driven by the differential side gears (or locker). They are two different things. You should have 31 spline axles. I'm not sure of the pinion spline count. However, at the worst, you'd have to change the pinion yoke but I doubt you'll need to do that. Sounds like everything is correct, you just need to learn the terminology.

Dave.
