Unless the real power is more, they state the same HP ...

I think he meant over the standard 3.5NA explorer. Remember he's new to the Ford stuff :p

And yes it will, but everything you need for that is over $700 from the dealership. Its MUCH cheaper to order one from Setina or Progard

what exactly is different in the interceptor mod?

I was on the Ford Police Advisory Board and worked with the Engineers on the new Interceptor program.

Police mode refers to the software programming used to combine the EPAS steering, AWD, PTU, and transmission to react differently once it senses Emergency driving behaviour.

In a retail vehicle MPG is the goal so the systems are designed to get up to the highest gear lowest RPM's ASAP.

The Police calibration is designed to hold the lowest gear possible based on speed
and RPM"s when it senses hard stop and go driving like a typical police application. It also sends more power to the rear wheels than retail vehicles.

This calibration came from EVOC drivers at LASD and Michigan State Precision Driving School.

Pursuit Rated means the vehicle was designed and intended for Pursuit/Emergency driving conditions and an engineer has signed off on it.
