Back-up Light problem

I recently got a new tranny put in my Ex and the only problem was that when I put it in reverse no backup lights would come on. Now, the lights are on all the time and it seemed to just have happened out of the blue. I think that I am going to take the bulbs out temporarily but is there anything that anybody might know that may be wrong? It seems to me to be some sort of short in the wiring. Any help is much appreciated!

i'm located in putnam valley
there has to be either a short or the reverse light switch was connected wrong.
