Could my front driveshaft be bad? If I grab the end if the shaft closest to the transfer case and shake it, it moves and you can hear it clunking. I assume this is no good. Could this be the reason my X shudders at slow speeds while turning? Please help!

Here is a pic of the area:

Yes. I went through this before... didnt you post this somewhere else?

Make sure those bolts are tight. Slight rotational play is normal. Any other play is bad. I think its about a 200 do it yourself job.

Mine started with those symptoms but spread to pinging sound while driving and then total failure. Front drive shaft replacement eliminated the slow speed turn shudder and pinging altogether.

Good luck.

Thanks, smiley1...I did post about the shudder before and read what you wrote about the front drive shaft. I just wanted to confirm that this was the problem area. The play is up and down, not so much rotational. Thanks again.
