Hi all been some time from my last posting tell now as the truck has been running some what good. (All but this dang miss) it has a slight miss that seams to be not located to just on cylinder at idle. When cold started runs fine and idles smooth but when warmed up and the air temps are high (above say 85) it starts to miss a bit at idle and if the air is on its worse. Any short stop of say two hours or less and then restarting will now get a puff of white smoke and a really bad smell of gas such as a rich fuel mix. The FPR is okay as far as I can tell (no gas in the vac line) it has newer plugs (autolights) wires and a new coil pack also but I checked them out to be sure and all are with in specs cold or warm. I also check for any vac leaks and there are not any and the vac off the tee on the intake with the motor running confirms this. My thinking is at 220,000 plus miles with no real motor service besides oil changes the injectors may be just wearing with one maybe two almost worn out.

Is there any way to check this out with out removing them?

How long do they normally last with out any service but every now and then (meaning every few years a fuel injector cleaner added)? I also have done this the last three tanks of gas with the Chevron stuff.

I know it runs like an old carb motor with a leaky float at idle right now or a worn idle jet and that is part of the reason I am thinking injectors. There is no CEL at all and no codes that are being held or with key on motor off or key on motor running. So what do the master explorer repair people think? Am I on the right track here? Or am I barking up the wrong tree.
Thanks Marty
