You might want to change your Fuel Filter if your still getting bad mileage, I didn't see that mentioned yet. I changed mine when I first got my Ex since I had no idea of the last time it was done.... picked up about 1-2 mpg easy.
I would put the stock one back on. It flows plenty well for a stock engine, it's cold air and it's the same filter used on the 460. Your tires/gears are killing you mileage more than anything, keep the revs around 2000, not 1500ish and you'll get better milage. The missoula elevation isn't helping you either, my truck is a turd over there.
I currently have 3.27 gears in mine. I've figured if I go to 31" tires 3.42 gears would get me close to the same ratio I currently have. I want overall like I have 3.73's, so I'm thinking 31" with 4.10 gears. It would be like haveing 3.82 gears with stock tires....

There's a reason you don't cruise around at idle, there is no torque there. Same with 1500 RPMs, it's lugging and using more gas, keeping the engine near peak torque (2400 RPMs) will yield best mileage. I've tested it myself. I did a couple tanks cruisng around in 5th around 1500-1800RPMs and then used 4th which is about 1800-2200 RPMs and I could get nearly 2 MPG better by doing so, and that was with stock 235/75/15s.
3.73s are good for 30s but go 4.10s for 31/32s and 4.56 for 33s, ect.
yes if you have never done them before.do you have 4x4?if so the front is going to be the really hard part.i would go 410 if you going to do all that work!ill be doing mine prob around nov and if you still want to go 3.73 ill sell you mine really cheap just to get ride of them
No, lashing them can be though.... Not for the weak of heart, takes very special tools and if done incorrectly, you'll ruin your gears at the least, your whole diff and axles or more at the worst. I would suggest doing LOTS of research on how to do it correctly before trying, or the best idea is find someone who's done it and knows what they are doing help the first time..... But it's not HARD...just....tricky.
and is there any way to test o2 censors, i dont have a CEL, but they most likely have 150k on them, but i dont wanna spend $60 a piece for them if i dont need to.

I read a post on here that Ford dealers say the fuel filter should be changed every year now, mainly due they say to crappy gas. I don't know how true that may or may not be, I've only ever changed them when there was a problem, I've had a fair number of cars and changed like 2 in my lifetime (on EFI cars that is, their a snap to change on the older cars I collect so I do it whenever I mess with the carbs or lines on those) . So, I guess it's just whatever you feel is best for you.
