I don't know if this has anything to do with it but I will explain what happened.

On Saturday I Installed a Zabteck breather filter by pass kit on my '98 Explorer. The kit was very well made and everything was provided to make it an easy install.

Anyway, after I installed the kit I cleaned the TB and went for a 30mi ride. Everything was fine and the truck was running the same as it ever was.

I stayed in Sunday and did not use the truck. This morning the truck started up as usual and everything was fine. I pulled out of my driveway and drove around the corner, when all of a sudden my engine starts running very poorly and the check engine light starts blinking off and on. I could feel the motor mis-firing badly at idle and under acceleration. The whole 25mi drive to work the check engine light was blinking on and off.

It has been raining heavily in the northeast so I wonder if that has anything to do with it? I remember washing the engine on my 96' Sable, water got into the spark plug holes and the engine did the same thing- with the check engine blinking.

I have been in worse rainstorms than this with the truck and have never had this problem, I have even washed the engine with no problems.

I inspected under the hood and everything is tight, the breather filter and cap blocking off the intake tube.

I don't see how this could have anything to do with the bypass mod??

Please help my truck is running like crap.
