is this something that happens alot to the 5.0

idk if it happens alot, my mechanic said i probably just knocked it loose when i replaced my water pump.

I had a bad leak and couldn't track where it was coming from. I pulled the radiator out and there was a crack somewhere on the front (side facing the grill) that was leaking and moving down the plastic fins on passenger side. I sealed the inlets/outlets on the radiator and filled with water and saw where the leak came from. Oh yeah and removing radiator on the 5.0 is a pain in the ass lol, even had to file the new one on it's clips so it would fit and not bind.

Pressure test it. If you can't see the leak, hopefully you'll be able to hear it.
