Hey, I'm getting some really bad vibrations when I get up to around 75 mph. The whole interior of the car shakes, the center console vibrates all over the place.
Also, there is a small rumble that i can hear even at low speeds.

And, what really got me worried, was today for the first time the car started to pull hard to the right under heavy braking. And the steering is starting to feel sloppy.

Anyone know what would cause all of these? Related, or a few things wrong??

Would someting like the ball joint, or some suspension member do this??

Havent really had a chance to jack it up and take a look yet, kinda hard that I'm in an apt. building now and have no driveway to use.
What should I look for??

Thank a lot.

By the way, its a '98 XLT w/ 130k on it

Off the top of my head, theres alot of possible causes.. Just to name a few: slip yoke, u joints, and pinion bearing, out of balance drive shaft can all cause vibrations. Also check your motor & tranny mounts could also cause vibration. Hopefully you'll find the cause.. I know it can be a pain in the a$$ to determine.

When was the last time you had your tires rotated and balanced? A tire out of balance can cause some pretty bad vibrations. Same goes for a tire that throws a belt.

If you have 130k on the clock and haven't replaced your ball joints yet, I would have someone take a look at them. I replaced my lowers and tie rod ends at 110k and it made a world of a difference. Much better steering response. I wasn't having any vibration issues - just kinda a safety thing.

Good luck.
