Hey gang - Anyone know if a '97 Explorer will leave holes in the tailgate if I remove the Ford Emblem and the Explorer Emblem?

Does anyone have pictures of how it looks??

..and then you just drive around with the holes exposed?

I wonder what it would cost to get it repainted. IT looks really nice!!

The cheapest I found is $350 in my area to do the whole hatch. But beware, when it comes to paint the cheapest is not always the best way to go.

Does anyone know the situation with the 04 X in relation to whether debadging will leave holes? I have a V8 Eddie Bauer, so if you know whether those will leave holes would also help. Oh and also do the door explorer emblems leave any holes either?

I don't think. The letters are all seperate and held on by double sided tape. Up to '97 the emblems were all one piece, and I guess they had to use retainers to support them.
