depends on if your truck has 4 wheel drive and if it is explorer or ranger. If I remember correctly 2wde explorer , rangers and 4wd 4.0 ranger don't have one. where 4wd explorer do. the reading I did about 2 years ago extra weight from the explorer transfer case require the balance shaft for 4 wd. I am not an expert just reading i have done brought me to that conclusion.


in less your talking about taking apart a motor a removing the balance shaft? then I believe you have plug some oil holes or something I dont really remember the details.

tahnks for replay , my engine is 4x4 - I suspecting something bad in balance shat area, I m thinking just remove the chain to avoid lifting engine to remove the oil pan.
