Hey im setting up a car audio for my explorer. I want to go ahead and get a new alternator and battery for it all. So my lights don't dim and I can power everything perfectly. Can I possibly get some links to the right kind of alternator to buy and the right battery. Just give me the links or tell me the model and brand names of the battery or the alternator. I don't know much about which ones to get. So you directly telling me would be great. Thanks ahead of time.

Those are the best choice for alternators...Mr. Alternator has great, quick service, turn-around time is FAST, but I wish it put out a little more at idle...other than that the 200 amp is slammin.

Makes great battery isolators in case you decide to run dual batteries, which is what I did.

Removed the old air box and put in a yellow top deep cycle battery as my aux battery.

Check the signature...I gotta get some updated pics of the final wiring.

Another solution that a couple of guys here have done is to upgrade the wiring from the alternator to the battery.

I think the dual batts with an isolator and a deep cycle to run accessories is the best solution.

Check the link in my signature for pics...I'll probably get new pics with the wiring tomorrow.

Search- there are a few solutions to help with the lights dimming, but to be honest I think the only real solution with amps and all is to run dual batteries with an isolator.
