What i've always done on Ford batteries (I used to build cop cars, so I've hooked up soo much useless crap to ford batteries...) When you unscrew the screw that tightens around the battery post, you'll see there are 2 tabs that hold it on, just bend those back with a screwdriver so you can get the screw out of the post clip thingy. Just put ring terminals on the aftermarket wiring, and put the screw threw them and back into the post clip thing. This way, if you ever need to do something to your new wiring, you can remove them with out killing the power to the truck (and reseting your chip, radio, and all of the other crap). Simple, but it saves hassles (especially if you have an aftermarket radio with ALOT of stuff set in it) My Kenwood Excelon 859 probably takes me 20 min to get everything reset to where I want it, I usually give up and say screw radio presets.
