HELP!! My wife left the DVD player running and the battery died. After charging, the PAT LED was blinking blue. When I opened the door to crank it, the PAT engaged and blared the horn. I quickly disconnected the battery b/c I didn't know it had a PAT until i got on here! So, i reconnected the battery and tried cranking. Did it lose the key code or something??? How do i get it fixed??!!

Ok, I found the Valet PAT override switch. held it down and cranked it up. The PAT reset. I disconnected the battery, reconnected it, and no PAT active. I killed it, got out, locked it, unlocked it, cranked it. No problem. now, that is weird.

What is PAT?

The PATS system is the chip in the key ONLY. You must have an aftermarket alarm (or dealer installed) one. So what you did was a valet over-ride. Ever since 06 ford has not put any factory alarms in the ex. They are just a "glorified" keyless entry that will honk the horn if you press it twice. Not to mention the factory led is red. Always has been for fords.
