I went and picked up a used Optima 31DS Yellow Top battery (im broke and in college). This battery is HUGE! Before i bought it up, i placed it on top of my existing battery to make sure it fit, and it looked like it will. I get it home, and pull my old battery out, and put the new one in....i was thinking it was all good, untill i noticed that it sticks up too far.....sure enfough, i was not able to close my hood.
Is there any way that i can lower the pan that hold the battery? I also have a Stinger SP-800 battery under my back seats....can i put that one up front and have the Optima in the back?

Im pretty sure you can lay optimas on their side without problem will it fit that way youll have to make up a tie down bracket..

let me know...

It's larger than the DieHard batt that's in there now, and it is made for Optima. What are the measurements? I had an Optima, and the tray is still in there... I'll send it to you if it's the correct item.

Here's the specs of the Optima:
CCA 900
MCA 1125
RC@25 Amps155
Dimensions(inches) 12-13/16 x 6-1/2 x 9-3/8
Weight (lbs) 59.8
Amp Hrs @20 Hrs. 75

Here's the specs on the Stinger stereo battery:
Max Peak Discharge: 2400 AMP
5-Second Cranking Output: 925 AMP
Cold Cranking Output: 470 AMP
Nominal Capacity: 30 Ah (C20 rate)
Diminsions: 7.1L x 6.7W x 5.6H

I tried (lightly) to put the optima on its side, but i couldn't really get it to fit....might be able to get it to fit if i took off the air intake tube. any ideas?

Alright, the old one wouldn't fit back... This is the only thing I have, sorry about that.
