1991 Eddie Bauer
I got a nail in one of my tires on my 1991 Eddie Bauer the other day and tried to put the spare on, but it wouldn't fit over the auto hubs because the center whole in the steel spare was too small. I've seen a couple of posts where people mention this. Any idea why this would be? Will the factory alloy wheels fit under the car as a spare?

If so, I'm trying to find a replacement. Does anyone know how to identify which wheels I have? Does anyone know what the difference is between the 1592 and 1593 other than the number of wholes?

Thanks

The factory alloy wheels will fit as a spare.I did mine a few months ago, just go to the junkyard and get a rim and tire off a 1rst gen ex and you are in business.:p:

Move one of your rear tires to the front and use the spare on the back..

Yep. The spare fits in the rear. Kind of a pain having to switch things around if you get a flat in the front, but guess it will work.

i had that same problem when 40 miles into the bush. the rim was rusty and i used a chainsaw file to remove the scale in the center hole. it was a tight fit but i got it and all i removed was the rust scale.
