I was driving to work 12-23-02. I noticed the little red battery symbol on my dash became illuminated. I began to keep an eye on my charge meter and noticed it begin to drop. I soon returned home to test my alt. and battery. Both tested at 12-15 volts. about five min. later my abs light came on and everything dimmed . The first thing i done was take off the alt. and put a used one from the junk yard on and it done the same thing . After changing it out two more times and recieving the same results i decided to go ahead and replace it with a new 130 amp from the parts store . When i was at the parts store i had them test the one and it tested ok { we know how those remanufacturedparts dont always function} I replaced the old with the new and jumped off my dead battery while recieving the same results as described originaly. Took off the battery and recharged it and tried again . The volt meter on my dash showed it charging good as well as testing with the volt meter returning 15 volt tests on alt and battery . But the dummy light is still on .? what can i check now ?:(

Sometimes the battery cables rot out inside, and need to be replaced, as they cannot handle the full current. Check them first....

today i tried this to help solve my dummy battery light prob.

last night I started reading in my shop manual . It said to try these tests. 1} disconect the positive side of battery . connect test ligth between the battery post and cable forming a series circuit . sart pulling fueses when the light goes out trace a short fom there. after a few minutes nothing . So i went to distrobution box under the hood . when pulling the JBL. power sterio fuse my test light went out so know i have to trace it from the factory powe amplifier. anyone with an idea on where to find a schematic fro that i dont have one in my shop manual .
