If the battery in question will hold a charge overnight when removed completely from the truck, more than likely you have "something" drawing voltage from the battery when installed.

Do you know of any known problems on a stock explorer?

You are going to have to do some detective work to track down the voltage leak.

Damn I have the same problem. I think it is in the wiring for the body computer. Cause my keyless entry doesn't work (used to) the windows work when they want to and sometimes the gauges go eratic. Wild. Any body know about the cost of a body computer?

What is a body computer?

It provides standby power to microprocessor during key-off conditions.
All interior light circuits, instrument cluster, power windows, power door locks, overhead consol instruments , keyless entry/anti theft alarm ,along with several other circuits fall into this body computer.

Where did you get this information? I'm pretty intimate with the electronics of these vehicles and there is no "body" computer per sey. And there certainly isn't anything providing stand by power during key off conditions to all these systems other than the battery. There are however, several modules throughout the body of the vehicle that can be causing a draw.

There is a GEM module that does a lot. But it doesn't do all you are suggesting. The RAP module takes care of keyless entry for example.

Never heard of a body computer.

Are you confusing this with the GEM?

Body computer is what I have always called it. You have a ECM for the engine and another for the accesories (this one is often referred to as GEM, body computer, body controll module, and ECM)

Basically it is slang. They say body b/c it controlls all accesories in the body of the vehicle. Damn drop it dude. You dont always have to be the most correct by the book technical speaking guy in the forum.

"Damn dude" you are wrong. It does a lot, not all you imply or state. It's wrong information and it needed to be cleared up for those who don't know.

It is not wrong. Look it up. I found the info on about 15 different sites searching to make sure I was not mistaken. The only one I might have been mistaken on was the keyless entry being under this and not the rap module but the anti theft system falls under this.
