This is on a 1991 EB Explorer. I recently put a new battery on this vehicle. It is not three months old. The other day, my wife was driving it and it just died. I get to the vehicle and the battery is dead. We jumped it off and got it home.
I then charged the battery. I removed the Altenator and had it checked. They said it was okay. It is only 2 1/2 years old. The battery is only showing about 12.5 volts when running. I also checked the volts from the altenator and it is getting about the same voltage.
Before this started, we have always noticed the voltage meter would bounce up and down at times. The head lights pulse when the engine is running. Now, the voltage meter only sits on the "N" in normal. It used to sit on the "A" or the "L". It did this when I charged it, but all of a sudden dropped down the the "N".
I want to change the Battery cables, but am having trouble finding where the negative cable ends at on the frame. I can't see it or feel it. Anyone know where it ends?
Anyone have any other ideas on this problem
Thanks,
Donnie Penney
