Ok, I have a 2002 be explorer that I just started having this issue that I want fixed. I had the battery tested and its perfect and truck starts every morning during cold starts and starts all the time with no problems anytime except when the truck is shut off and you leave a phone on charge, lights on or something of that nature and it only takes a few minutes to kill the battery. If it were the cables, wouldn't it effect it not only when you leave lights on or something? Can someone help me try to figure this out? I mean, it could be the cables, but don't add up. Thanks

First thing I'd check is if the battery is getting a charge from the alternator. Put a meter on the two battery posts and see what the charge is when the truck is running with the lights on and maybe the heater fan turned to high or the phone charger plugged in.

Any after-market stuff you've added like amps or stereo equipment or remote starter or car alarm?

I know alt was good. I was thinking maybe cables or battery. Had battery tested while running and it was perfect. I had to let battery die in order to find out it was the battery with a dead cell or more. I changed the battery and all good for now. Thanks

Was the battery light flickering when idling low? I had a similar issue just last week turns out alternator was on it's last legs. Replaced alternator charged up battery and issue is resolved.

Nope, no flickering of the battery light.
