Battery Saver fuse keeps blowing on 2016 Explorer

My battery saver (#1) fuse underneath the steering wheel keeps blowing. It also knocks out power to the visor lamp, Homelink buttons, and the 2nd row seats. It will work for days or weeks then randomly blow.

Any ideas if this is a common issue or what could be causing it? And what exactly does the battery saver do? Many thanks in advance.

It sounds like you may have a wire(s) shorting out when moving and that would blow the fuse. Not a common issue as I think this is the first post I've read on the problem. I doubt this type of issue would result in a trouble code being set but you could check.

What fuse # is this?

There is a battery control module but I've never heard of battery saver fuse. The box that attaches to the right side of the positive battery terminal is for the BCM.

IF shorting is the problem, it can be difficult to track down. You could try moving wires/harnesses around while the vehicle is running/idling to see if it happens.

Thanks, I'll try that. Do we know what the battery saver circuit actually does? The fuse is blown but radio, cabin lights, and windows still work when I turn off the car, and my battery so far is fine, so not sure what it's actually "saving"..

The battery saver feature turns OFF anything left ON after 10 minutes with the exception of the parking lights.

The demand lamps are the overhead lights near the visors. I suspect this is your issue.

I figured it out! It took a while, but I finally got around to troubleshooting the driver's side vanity mirror and that was the problem. The cables had been positioned incorrectly at the factory and over time got all chewed up, causing intermittent shorts. For anyone else in the future that has this problem and finds this thread, check your cables on both visors.
