Battery Warrenty Question

Does anyone know exactly what FORD and Motorcraft's warrenty with batteries is? I had the original battery in my truck when it was made in 1996. Then It had to be replaced in 1998. I do not have records from then, because my dad still had the truck. Then it had to be replaced in November of 2000. A prorate of $27 was paid. The new battery worked fine until recently. I went to ford to get it replaced and they said I had to buy a new battery. I told them the battery was made in October of 2000 and it was still under the 36 month warrenty. They said that since that battery was prorated from the one before that it is on the older batterys warrenty and they would not replace it. Is this normal or should my battery be replaced for free because even my most recent battery did not last he three years it should have? It is sitting in my garage until I can get this resolved.

That just sucks man. If you can't get some money back just tell them to put that Motorcraft Battery where the sun don't shine.

Anyway, get yourself a Sears Die Hard Gold. It's good for ATLEAST 5 years and I think it's warranteed for 7 years.

Sorry I can't help you with Ford Motorcraft pro-rated policy. As soon as mine died after only 4 years I switched right away to Sears'.

Warrnty is from the origional purchased battery

purchased in 98 if you get a free replacement. You were credited $27 toward the purchase of a new battery. So, the new battery warranty should start over. On a three year battery old, this should be worth almost nothing. If you are trying to save bucks, don't go to a dealer. Other thn a free replacement, warranties are just sucker bait.
