I want to have a single rack bike rack most of the time on my XLT, using the hitch. I have a 1Up USA single rack (BTW, the BEST rack I've seen so far for my purposes) but is still blocks my sensors. I'm willing to weld up a custom mount, etc. if it will help clear the sensors.

With the rack mounted, when in reverse the sensors trigger the warning sound and it's a pain to disable every time I start. Maybe they can reset the sensors so it defaults to off instead of on? That would solve a lot.

So, does anyone know if the sensor beams are conical or cylindrical? I searched and couldn't find anything about the sensor beam angles. Any help appreciated.

I don't know if a 'default' setting can be changed. I'm guessing most default to ON for safety reasons. The Forscan guys might know.

Based on the location, and the things that set it off, I'd say they have to be conical. As for changing the default, I dunno.
