Bed in Back....

I just picked up another 1 gen explorer , and ive never thought about putting a twin size bed in the back untill tonight, when i needed one..lol...anyways i was curious if anyone has a bed in the back of there explorer for camping,napping or for (other) things ???

Yep. I built a full size false floor/tool box.
When camping I have a easy to slap together piece that covers the front seats when in the down position for a nice even bed.

I just use a double air matress. Fills the space real nice and it sure beats haulin a real matress.

in my 2nd gen we throw our futon mattress in there... it will form over the wheelwells with the seat down ... then you can just throw all your **** in the front seats when you want to lay down.... slept in my truck many times.... sure beats paying 50 bucks for a hotel when you only need to sleep for 4 or 5 hours and then get on the road again...

Sweet idea, i need to make a box, so i can fit a full size spare also (33.12.50), then put my tackle and stuff in there, i went mudding last night herew in oregon, with a complete honda civic head and intake manifold, (70)lbs, in the back of my explorer, i was getting air in the mud holes, and that head was flying everywere in the back behind the seat''s...lol,

future TIP dont go mudding with **** in the back of your truck, and i lost my alpine cd remote...lil pissed

Never leave stuff unsecured in the back when offroad, or anytime for that matter. If you roll or take a hrad hit it could kill you, and it would be far from the first time!!!!!!!!!
