Hey there folks. Nice to finally write something.

Ok, long story short. We have a 2003 exp. sport. 2wd. 5spd 4.0. It has been stock for way to long!!!! I just sold my 2002 jeep that I lifted etc. :( but now I am going for a pre-runner set-up. It sounds like the ranger spindles with a little bit of TT for the front and f150 springs (2" springs?) will provide enough room for 33's. I am also going to lock the rear. And re-gear with 4.56ish.

I reckin' my question is what year ranger is it that I can steal from? Can all 4.0 parts can be used? What about computer chips? It seems that the cat-back exhaust seems like it has to be made, intakes are available but I just want to make sure that I am looking in the right direction.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Rob

Btw- any guys in atlanta need help with wrenching let me know. :us:

how about this...spindles +3" of TT and then SOA in the rear....that will give you enough room for 33's.

I thought about that. I like having the lower center of gravity and not having to worry about axle wrap.

I am guessing that the spindle kits for the 2001 ranger is the one that everyone is talking about but the "edge" kit are for bigger brakes. Also, in regards to the rear I am actually going to be looking for the front raised look. Since it will be a pre-runner and only 2 wheel drive.

sounds good, not too sure about 2wd front lifts though, if u put the f150 springs in the rear, and they dont clear the 33's like you want, try Warrier shackles (War153) they should give you another 1.5" or so. and if that isnt quite enough, then throw an add-a-leaf in there. That should give you the lift without doing a SOA to clear 33s

the F-150 spring are from an 86?-96 f-150, they are 2.5" wide and then you insert the leaves into your pack(all but the main F-150 leaf).

Can't tell you how fun this is, a new project! It will be nice building something different. Good info. for the suspension. Re gearing is straight forward. The next thing is the engine. The everything for the ranger 4.0 should be the same for exp. 4.0. Right?

Thanks again for the info.

I was looking under the truck and it does not have a mono leaf. It has the three springs and the overload. Is this one of those different things they added towards the end of the two door life?
