I've had this problem for a while now, I think it's no big deal, but let's see what y'all think.

Sometimes when I start the truck up (more often in cold weather and on cold starts), a small squeek starts coming from the engine. It goes away after about 30sec-a minute. I think it's just the belts stretching and expanding. Is this normal? Does it mean my belts are going to snap or something?

Thanks!

replace the belt and find out. It's always good to keep some spare belts in the truck anyways so just use the old one as a spare and put on a new belt. Besides, good reason to go to the auto-parts store : )

how hard is it to replace the belt?

snap...under the truck below the alt. there's a pully, pull up on that to release the tension on the belt and pull the belt off. To put the belt back on just put it over the spots where it needs to go(air, alt, ext) and then down to the pully. Pull up on the pully and put the belt on. Release the pully and the tension becomes adjusted on it's on. You might need to use a large screwdriver to help put the belt onto the pully as it is a tight fit, as well as it might be easier to do from underneith the truck.

Good luck.
