I'm looking into replacing my Explorer ProComp shocks that I have on my 1993, which are nearly 9 years old. The ride quality with them is terrible, but it could just be from worn-out shocks. It dives hard under braking, and at times the rear has slid during emergency stops. When I hit a pothole, the entire vehicle goes BOOM! Basically, I am looking into a few different kinds of shocks. Which of the following brands are the best?By the way, stock height, no lift or drop.

Rancho 5000
Rancho RSX
Monroe Sensa-Trac
Monroe Reflex
Edelbrock IAS

I rarely drive off road, mostly in-town driving.

Budget: Gabriel VST (15-20 ea)
Otherwise: Rancho9000 or Bilstein.

i bought 4 gaybriel vst shocks for our 97 ex, have yet to see how they drive, but at $20 apiece they'll be better than stock (129k).

i think i have seen alot of posts with monroe sensa tracs.

Rancho 5000 for non lifted or small lift

Rancho 9000 for big lift big tires

These are what I run and I have used them on all my vehicles.
