Best Bug shield for hood and windshield?

Does anyone know what the best Bug shield for hood and windshield? I will be driving 2200 miles soon and need a good protector from rocks and bugs. I have a 99 Ford Explorer limited. Does anyone have any specific brands or models that they feel are the best? Anyone have any links from places I can buy from on the internet?

I've got a Bugflector II on mine and I like it a lot. It's the kind that curves around the edges on the fenders a bit. I think they look pretty sharp, and the install was easy. It just screws into factory holes in the hood. Not too expensive either. Mine was about $40 from a local auto parts store.

There are others you may want to look into. Lund makes one, Performance Products has one, EGR has one...etc. You can go to www.performanceproducts.com to see pictures of the ones I've listed above. I'm sure there are more, but I just can't think of any right now.

I second the Bugflector II by the Auto Ventshade. I think they look the best. I have one and it has made a difference in how many bugs are hitting my windshield. You wouldn't think they'd do much, but they really do.

I use a profile + bug shield and I like it. I have a early model though and I have not seen what the profile + looks like on newer models.

I have the WeatherTech bugshield and it looks pretty good and it works pretty good too. I got it for like $40. It was one of the promotional items last year so I got one. I love it!

I got the EGR version. It works OK and was easy to fit, minor problem is that crap collects in the gap between deflector/front lip of the hood - and I can't get my hand down there to clean it out.
Worth having though.

i have a Profile V, and im am DISSAPOINTED, the rubber bumps on the hood slide off when it gets hot outside, and the deflector slaps the hood, RUINED my paint!!

im going to get a bugflector II for little bro, ill let you know how it goes
