Best shocks for the money

What in your opinion are the best shocks for the money? I like the look of white shocks with red boots, but looks arent as important as proformance and price.

I personally like rancho 5000's pretty cheap at 4wheelparts.com

I am a big fan of the KYB MonoMax shocks. I have them on my 04 Ranger and I just installed them on my 97 Explorer. They are very stiff, but I like a little firmer ride.

before we can recommend a shock we need to know what kind of a ride you want, do you want a soft ride for a daily driver, a firm ride for performance, shocks for offroad? All will give very different answers.
